To access this page, click Custom Data in the main navigation of your Pagos Service Panel. Here you’ll find statistics on attributes of your data that can help better inform how you filter your charts and dashboards when searching for insights or checking the health of your payments stack. Custom Data is broken into three tabs:

Metadata

To view data in this table, start by clicking the Metadata filter and selecting a metadata field you want to view payments data for. The table then displays each metadata value associated with that field, along with aggregated metrics for the transactions tagged with those metadata values. You can use this information to identify the best metadata fields to filter your Insights dashboards by. Learn more about how you might use metadata in our Labeling Transactions with Soft Descriptors and Metadata guide.

Descriptions

The names of custom metadata fields aren’t always self-explanatory; the Descriptions tab is where you can define those field names for your team to keep everyone on the same page. The table lists every metatdata field passed with your payments data. To add a description:
  1. Locate the field you want to describe.
  2. Click the pencil icon in the Description column.
  3. Add a description, providing additional context on what that field represents (max 100 characters). Hit enter or click outside of the editor to save your changes.
Every Pagos user in your Organization will see the same metadata descriptions in the Descriptions and Metdata tabs, as well as in the metadata filter.

Soft Descriptors

This table identifies the top soft descriptors used in your transaction data, along with aggregated metrics for the transactions tagged with those soft descriptors. You can use this information to identify the best soft descriptors to filter other Insights dashboards by when exploring trends in your transaction data.

You can take the following actions in the Metadata and Soft Descriptor tabs:
