Benchmarking Within Visualizations
Beta Feature
Pagos benchmarking is currently in a closed Beta for Pagos Visualizations subscribers. Reach out to your Pagos Account Manager to request access.
Overview
Our benchmarking tool, Flamingo, empowers your business to benchmark your payments performance trends against those of industry leaders and peers. You can use benchmarking to anonymously compare your historical payments data against relevant benchmarks to identify areas for improvement, recognize trends, and gain confidence in your processing capabilities. You can even confirm if any trends in your data are consistent across your industry or only affecting you!
Flamingo is powered by billions of transaction data points and custom card network data feeds. Even more, the data is updated regularly and anonymized to provide you with the most up-to-date data comparisons possible without revealing the sources. Benchmarking is built within the Pagos Visualization platform and available at an additional fee.
Using Benchmarking
At this time, benchmarking capabilities are available in the Approval Rate tab of the Approvals Metrics page in the Pagos Service Panel. To compare your approval rate data against your cohort, click the Benchmark toggle on the main graph. A pink shaded area appears, demonstrating an estimated benchmark range over time. This range reflects approval rate trends aggregated across comparable businesses and accounts for statistical variation within the cohort (among other proprietary considerations).
Note
Chargebacks will be the next Metrics page to include benchmarking capabilities.
Filtering Benchmark Data
Use the bar lists below the main Approval Rate graph to filter your approval rate data. If you select filter parameters in the following bar lists, the filter will apply to both your data and the benchmark data:
- Card Brand
- Card Type
- Stored Credential
- Issuer Country
If you use any other bar list to filter the data in your Approval page, the chosen filter parameter will be applied to only your approval rate data and not the benchmark range. This allows you to compare any segment of your own data to the cohort’s overall benchmark range.
Warning
If your cohort doesn’t contain enough data to generate a benchmarking range for the chosen filter parameter, the main graph will display an Unavailable message.
Important Notes on Benchmark Range Data
Keep the following information in mind when using benchmarks:
- Benchmarking is only available if you’ve set the Date Range filter to a daily, weekly, or monthly time interval.
- Historical benchmark ranges are available as far back as three months from today's date, provided there is enough data in the cohort.
- To ensure cohort data is complete and up-to-date, benchmark ranges are not available for the last 3 days.
- We calculate approval rate benchmark ranges after removing duplicate retry data from your cohort’s attempted transaction count. To ensure a more direct comparison with your own data, turn on deduplicate filter (click Dataset, then click the Deduplicate toggle).
