# Settlement Type Codes

| Response Code (Integer) | Short Code              | Description                                                                                         |
| :---------------------- | :---------------------- | :-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 1                       | advance\_settlement     | Advanced settlement                                                                                 |
| 2                       | chargeback              | A debit for a transaction disputed by the bank, card brand, or customer                             |
| 3                       | chargeback\_reversal    | A previous chargeback amount credited back to you after you successfully fought and won the dispute |
| 4                       | refund                  | A debit for a tansaction refunded to the customer                                                   |
| 5                       | refund\_installment     | A debit for an installment payment refunded to the customer                                         |
| 6                       | refund\_reversal        | A refund returned to your account                                                                   |
| 7                       | second\_chargeback      | A debit for an unsuccessful defense of a first chargeback                                           |
| 8                       | settlement              | A credit for a payment that was settled                                                             |
| 9                       | settlement\_installment | A credit for a transaction created in installments                                                  |
| 10                      | settlement\_reversal    | A debit that reverses a settled transaction                                                         |
